FTMO Launches Instant: No Evaluation, 90% Split, and a Max Loss That Never Resets

FTMO now sells a direct-access account from $5K to $100K with a 3% daily loss, a 10% intraday trailing max loss and a 30% consistency rule. The catch: unlike 1-Step, the max loss limit does not reset after a Reward.

What happened

FTMO, the firm that popularized the two-step challenge, now sells an account with no evaluation at all. The FTMO Instant Account is a direct-access FTMO Account that activates when you open your first simulated trade. Prop Firm Match dated the launch to 12 October 2026, and FTMO now lists Instant next to 1-Step and 2-Step on its comparison table (opens in new tab) and Trading Objectives (opens in new tab) page.

It is FTMO's first instant-funding product.

The terms

From FTMO's Instant Account page (opens in new tab), its launch post (opens in new tab) and the Trading Objectives page:

  • Account sizes: $5K, $10K, $25K, $50K and $100K, one-time fee
  • Price: from $189 to $3,399 in FTMO's launch post; the comparison table shows "from €169" in euros
  • Reward ratio: 90% from the first Reward
  • Max daily loss: 3% of initial capital, reset at 00:00 CE(S)T
  • Max loss: 10%, trailing on balance and recalculated intraday, the moment a trade closes at a new balance high
  • Consistency: your best day can be no more than 30% of total profit to request a Reward
  • Leverage: up to 1:100
  • Trading period: unlimited, no minimum trading days

Prop Firm Match reports a first Reward request 14 days after your first trade. FTMO's own Instant pages we checked did not state the timing, so confirm it in your Client Area.

The catches

The max loss never resets. On 1-Step, FTMO resets the max loss limit back to 90% of starting capital after a Reward. On Instant it does not. FTMO says the limit you reach "continues to apply on your FTMO Account as well," and that once your balance goes above 110% of starting capital, a Reward withdrawal "would breach the Limit." In plain terms, taking profit out can drop your balance below a floor that has already trailed up, so you have to size withdrawals yourself. FTMO says that is your responsibility.

It trails intraday, not end of day. 1-Step trails once a day at midnight. Instant moves up the moment any trade closes at a new high, so a winning trade early in the day tightens the floor for the rest of it.

30% consistency is tight. It is stricter than the 50% rule on 1-Step. FTMO's own example: with a $6,000 best day, you need at least $20,000 in total profit before you can request a Reward. Missing it is not a breach; you keep trading until the ratio clears. After a Reward, total profit starts again from zero.

No refund. The comparison table shows a 100% fee refund only on 2-Step.

Bottom line

Instant gives FTMO traders a skip-the-challenge route with a wide 10% max loss and a 90% split. But the room shrinks fast: the floor trails on every closing high, never resets after a Reward, and the 30% consistency cap means one big day has to be backed by many smaller ones.
