Topstep Makes Four Labs Accounts Permanent, Including the $25K and $50K Static Combines, With a Five-Per-Month Cap

Topstep Labs used to sell its experimental accounts as limited drops. Topstep now says four of them, the $25K and $50K Static Drawdown Trading Combines, the $250K Freedom Trading Combine and the $1.5K Challenge (Powered Up), can be bought any time, up to 5 of each per month. All four are one-time fees with free activation and no resets.

What happened

Topstep has turned four of its Topstep Labs products into standing offers. Its help-center page on Labs (Topstep Labs (opens in new tab), last updated 20 October 2026) now carries this note: the $25K and $50K Static Trading Combines, the $250K Freedom Trading Combine and the $1.5K Challenge (Powered Up) "are all now available for purchase any time," and traders can buy up to 5 of each account per month.

Until now, Labs was Topstep's limited-drop track: each product went on sale for a window and then moved to a past-drops list. We covered the $50K Static Drawdown Combine when it dropped on 5 October. The October Halloween drops, the $3K Undead and $3K Slasher Challenges, are not part of the permanent list.

Topstep is listed in the ProprietaryTrading.com directory.

The four permanent accounts

All four are a one-time fee, not a monthly subscription. Activation is free and resets are not available, per the help page.

A few details from the same page:

  • The three Combines have a 55% consistency target and a 90-day expiration. They lead to an Express Funded Account (XFA) with a payout cap of $4,000 on the $25K, $8,000 on the $50K and $25,000 on the $250K. After the first payout, the Max Loss Limit on the XFA moves to $0.
  • The $50K Static XFA lets you pick the Standard path (no consistency) or the Consistency path (40%). The $25K Static also offers both paths, and the $250K Freedom is Standard only.
  • The $1.5K Challenge (Powered Up) is a two-round challenge: hit $1,500 in the Challenge Round, then $1,500 again in the Payout Round, and you get a fixed $1,500 payout, paid once, with no 90/10 split. The account then closes. It has no daily loss limit, no consistency target and no scaling.

Why it matters

The static-drawdown Combines stand out because the loss floor never moves up as you make money. Making them permanent means traders no longer have to rush a drop window or wait for a relaunch to get one, and the $149 one-time $50K Static now sits alongside Topstep's standard monthly-subscription Trading Combine as a regular choice.

The trade-off is the purchase cap. Five of each account per month still allows a trader to run several at once, but it stops anyone from stacking dozens. Note that the parameter table for the $50K Static on the same page still reads "5 per Trader," while the new note says five per month; check your dashboard for the limit that applies to you.

FAQ

Q: Are these real-money accounts? A: No. The Trading Combine and Express Funded Account are simulated. Topstep's Live Funded Account is a separate step, and call-up to Live is at the discretion of Topstep's risk team.

Q: Can I reset a Labs account if I fail? A: No. The help page lists resets as not available on all four. You'd buy a new one, within the monthly cap.

Q: Are the $3K Undead and $3K Slasher Challenges permanent too? A: Not according to the help page. Only the four accounts above are listed as available any time.

Q: Is this an affiliate or PT.com exclusive offer? A: No. This is editorial coverage of Topstep's public change. ProprietaryTrading.com is not claiming an exclusive code, promo code or tracked referral with Topstep in this article.
