Equities prop firms are structurally different from the futures-dominated retail prop industry. Many trade real capital on real market P&L rather than a SIM evaluation, and are set up for share-volume-heavy strategies (scalping, momentum, VWAP) rather than futures-style intraday swings.
The evaluation vs. firm-capital split matters more here than it does in futures. Evaluation-style equity firms exist, but the majority of serious equity prop firms fund on live capital and profile traders more heavily before granting size.
