Nexgen ProTrader Funding said on its own X account on 2 October that it ran out of money and is ceasing operations. Sales and trading stopped on 1 October, approved payouts are being offered a percentage settlement, active evaluations are to be refunded, and Semi-Live traders are being moved to Legends.

What happened

Nexgen ProTrader Funding, a US futures prop firm that sold Nexgen Rapid evaluations and Nexgen Instant accounts, announced on 2 October 2026 in a post on its own X account (@nexgenprotrader) that it is ceasing operations. The firm said it ran out of money after losing credit card processing in August and could not recover.

According to the post, new sales of evaluations, funded accounts, the Semi-Live program and resets stopped at 5 PM ET on 1 October 2026. The firm said CME live data would be disconnected at that point and accounts would no longer be able to trade. Its Discord for prop participants is closing too.

A note on the source. As of 8 October 2026 the @nexgenprotrader account no longer exists on X, and the post now shows as unavailable. Its content is preserved in quote posts that embed it, from Futures Prop Watch and The Prop Truth, and in same-day write-ups by FundedTruth and TheGodFunded. Their accounts of the notice match. Because we can no longer open the original post, we summarize it below rather than quote it.

What the firm said happens next

  • Approved payouts: partial settlement. Nexgen said its remaining funds are not enough to pay every approved payout in full. Each affected trader is being offered a percentage of the approved amount as a proposed final settlement. The post did not state the percentage. Traders are to receive an individual notice with the approved amount, the offer, its terms and how to accept it.
  • Active evaluations: refund, not transfer. Evaluation accounts are not being moved to another firm. Nexgen said it will refund the purchase price of accounts that are active and eligible under its final reconciliation. No timing was given.
  • Semi-Live: moved to Legends, no refund. Eligible active Semi-Live traders are being offered a complimentary Elite account at Legends, arranged through GFF Brokerage. Those accounts run under Legends' rules, not Nexgen's.
  • Live Cash accounts: to be closed and reconciled through GFF Brokerage, with applicable profit shares paid.
  • Affiliates: to receive separate instructions on their balances.

What it means for traders

If you have a pending payout, do not count on the full amount. Save the approval email, dashboard screenshots, invoices and anything else that shows what you are owed. Wait for your individual offer and read its terms before accepting, since Nexgen describes it as a final settlement. No settlement percentage or payment date has been published.

Your account cannot trade. Nexgen said trading was disabled from 1 October. As of 8 October, the firm's website, nexgenprotraderfunding.com, still showed its Rapid and Instant product pages with no closure notice. Do not buy a Nexgen account.

Semi-Live migration means a new account at a different firm. A Legends Elite account is a new account with a new rulebook, not a continuation of your Nexgen account. Read Legends' rules, drawdown and payout terms before trading it. Legends is not listed in the ProprietaryTrading.com directory, and we have not reviewed or endorsed it.

Expect scams. Firm closures attract fake "recovery" offers. Deal only with direct communication from Nexgen, never share logins, and never pay anyone to recover a payout or an account.

What this article is not claiming

  • We are not stating a settlement percentage. Nexgen did not publish one.
  • We are not saying any refund or settlement has been paid yet. The post described a plan, not completed payments.
  • We are not recommending Legends or any other firm as a replacement.
