Scalping is short-term trading that targets small gains on quick in-and-out positions. Scalping strategies typically hold trades for seconds to minutes and rely on tight spreads, low commissions, and good execution.

Some prop firms restrict scalping via minimum hold-time rules (e.g. trades must be held at least 1 minute). Where allowed, scalping is one of the more demanding styles to run profitably on a simulated funded account because the slippage modeling and platform latency can erode the strategy''s edge.
